BIOMETRICS PLAY A PART IN EXPANSION PLAN OF FROSTREE
A biometric fingerprint scanner to record time and attendance is the final addition to a brand new factory in Stockton which will pave the way for expansion by commercial contractors Frostree Ltd. The family run firm designs and manufactures architectural fenestration; that is aluminum and UPVC windows, doors and curtain walls, and plans to grow from a current workforce of thirty, to fifty employees within twelve months.
The biometric time and attendance system was supplied and fitted by Blaydon based North East Time Recorders and will automatically calculate payroll, saving on administration costs. There is an added health and safety benefit since the system provides accurate information on exactly who is in the building in the event of emergency. The biometric system is the latest in a long line of attendance systems Frostree have commissioned from North East Time Recorders over two decades.
Frostree has invested heavily in state of the art computer controlled manufacturing and administration systems that will enable the firm to bid for bigger orders across the North of England. A graduate has been hired to oversee the installation of drawing office computers to enable technical drawings to be undertaken in-house and Frostree are committed to an apprenticeship program to train young workers.
The new factory will enable Frostree to overcome seasonal work surges caused by their heavy involvement in the education sector when work must be completed over the summer holidays. Further expansion into commercial, non-education contracts will smooth the workflow over the twelve month period. Currently Frostree are involved in the ‘Splash’ extension to Stockton baths, the conversion of BT buildings in Darlington, the refurbishment of Northallerton Town Hall and projects in the motor, medical and education sectors across the region.
Frostree Director Neil Snowdon said:
“The biometric time and attendance system is the latest of its type and the final installation in one of the most up to date manufacturing facilities of its kind in the UK. Now that we have the space and technology we need, we plan to protect the jobs of our thirty employees and provide at least twenty more over the coming year. Our order book is healthy so now it is a matter of gearing up supply, maintaining our quality standards and meeting demand”.
North East Time recorders Director Chris Routledge said:
“We are delighted to continue our long association with Frostree and we wish them every success in the new factory and with their expansion plans”.
